About the Role If you've worked in property insurance, you know the importance of risk assessment - but as an Associate Account Engineer at Woodruff Sawyer, you'll be on the other side of the table. Instead of writing engineering reports, you'll be using your engineering and insurance knowledge to advocate for clients with carriers. Growth Opportunity This role is ideal for someone looking to expand their property insurance engineering expertise into the broker technical engineering side. You'll learn to apply your engineering knowledge to advocate for the client, while continuing to develop your engineering skills and advance within the vast insurance industry. What You'll Do Work directly with clients to prioritize their property exposures, with the goal of helping clients improve their risk profile. You'll translate complex engineering requirements into practical action plans for clients. Partner with carrier engineers to negotiate realistic timelines and alternatives for implementing loss control recommendations. Your insurance and engineering experience will help you understand what's reasonable versus what's ideal. Support property loss control aspects of renewals Advise clients on fire, machinery breakdown, and natural hazard exposures Perform physical site surveys, collecting the necessary information to assemble marketing and COPE reports Advise account service teams on natural hazard exposures and limits Master industry tools like Marshall & Swift to validate building valuations, and natural hazard mapping. Salary offered will be dependent upon geography, experience, and expertise of the candidate.
