YOUR IMPACT:
The position of Account Onboarding Associate within the Retail SMA Oversight team in Salt Lake City is ideal for someone who is interested in learning all the requirements for new clients to invest in Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) and streamlining the process with a client service mindset. To successfully onboard client relationships, this role involves communication and coordination across many internal teams, such as Sales, Service & Operations along with touchpoints with external SMA sponsors & custodians. This position requires a thorough understanding of a client service/onboarding environment, and an in-depth knowledge of the industry, our client base, and our systems. The position also requires an understanding of Client Onboarding, the ability to problem solve and to provide best-in-class service to our clients and sponsors.

The GSAM Retail SMA Oversight team sits within the GS Asset Management Operations organization and has primary responsibility of our clients' portfolio account events, serving as the single point of contact for all operational related client inquiries. Functions cover a wide range of clients and a complex suite of equity and fixed income strategies. The group supports portfolio managers, sales, trading, and client relationship professionals by providing innovative solutions for our clients including accurate and timely client account information while overseeing all aspects of our operational risk and control framework.

The Onboarding team plays a critical role within Retail SMA Oversight by ensuring all investment requirements are met and making the client experience as streamlined as possible. By ensuring accuracy and timeliness of onboarding, the group facilitates the business in achieving desired objectives for all aspects of account onboarding, portfolio accounting, cash management, and client reporting.

RESPONSIBILITES AND QUALIFICATIONS

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients with respect to client onboarding, including answering account documentation inquiries, acting as the service stakeholder for policy/procedure related discussions, and establishing client accounts on firm systems
  • Verify that all documentation received from the client comply with regulatory and compliance standards, as well as firm-wide AML guidelines
  • Maintain workflow procedures and onboarding documentation
  • Partner with Management and other Service Representatives to build long term successful and scalable service models
  • Cultivate a service environment targeted towards enhancing the client onboarding experience
  • Analyze and problem solve, both independently and with the team
  • Monitor and escalate onboarding issues to ensure a high-quality response to clients
  • Create daily Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics and forecasting across our main businesses to track and monitor KPIs and KRIs
  • Maintain the day-to-day books & records of Third-Party Wealth (TPW) clients by ensuring accurate funding, exception management and maintenance of tax lot integrity


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Previous experience in Operations and/or Financial Services Industry, preferably in Asset Management
  • Onboarding experience in Operations/Asset Management
  • Extremely detailed oriented and willing to collaborate across multiple organizations
  • Strong leadership, communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
  • Highly analytical with the ability to creatively provide solutions
  • Can multitask and work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite tools including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access
  • Bachelor's degree required


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experienced in partnering and managing deliverables during high growth phases
  • Strategic and creative thinker, with strong facilitation and data gathering skills, able to recommend tactical and long-term solutions
  • Ability to drive projects through execution with minimal oversight
  • Technically adept in working with Business Intelligence and low code tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and Robotics Processing Automation (RPA)
  • Experienced in financial Digital Solution Platforms like InvestCloud, Vestmark



WORK EXPERIENCE



  • 5-7 years of experience in a financial industry, service environment
