Flowers is looking to add a talented Company Fleet Manager to our growing team!

Title: Company Fleet Manager
Salary Range: 90,000 - 115,000/year
Office Location: Remote with occasional travel

Position Overview:

The Company Fleet Manager is responsible for managing the company's fleet of DSD delivery trucks, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with all regulations. This role requires development and implementation of strategies to optimize costs, improve reliability, and ensure best practices in fleet management.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local motor carrier regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements is essential

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
  • Lead fleet acquisition leveraging expertise of preferred outside vendors
  • Track the fleet's locations using GPS devices to monitor how well RSRs are adhering to their schedules
  • Develop and manage consistent program (processes) for registering and licensing all fleet vehicles
  • Manage fleet assignments to sales divisions and sales companies
  • Monitor and measure the distances covered by the fleet to reduce empty miles and improve efficiency
  • Maximize vehicle utilization
  • Vehicle degradation and replacing vehicles is an important KPI as it will be crucial for maintaining an efficient and modern fleet
  • Develop strategies to keep your fuel costs as low as possible
  • Monitor fleet downtime to ensure they aren't out of action longer than necessary
  • Continually maintain vehicle TCO (total cost of ownership) by monitoring the costs that come along with each vehicle in the fleet identify opportunities and make the necessary changes to maximize efficiency
  • Lead, train, and develop the Company Fleet Specialist(s)
  • Develop and administer vehicle asset management processes from procurement to disposition
  • Establish and monitor operational and replacement strategies and practices in a cost-effective manner
  • Ensure all Flowers' sales companies work within Company vehicle maintenance, geolocation, and fuel card programs and controls
  • Ensure Flowers' sales company compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Develop and implement robust training modules for vehicle program, equipment uses, and care
  • Ensure the satisfaction of the DSD sales team by implementing measures to improve your efficiency through support and assistance by leveraging vendor relationships
  • Work closely with the DSD sales team communicating driver qualification requirements, compliance updates, and safety protocols
  • Analyze data to increase fleet operational efficiency and controls
  • Monitor fuel usage and implement strategies to improve efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs
  • Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
  • Perform other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other operating rules, policies, and procedures
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of practical Fleet Management experience
  • Proven track record of operational and organizational skills
