Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to develop and maintain drawings and schematics as well as provide project support for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold AFB. This is a full-time position.



Responsibilities

    Update Communications Rack Elevation diagrams, floor drawings, and cable plant drawings.
  • Maintain an information database composed of complex maps, cable/fiber configurations, network devices, digital and hard copy sketches, diagrams, drawings, photographs, databases, and tables configured in a database management system.
  • Maintain the site cable/fiber plant and equipment layout drawings in accordance with commercial and local practice
  • Make all necessary and applicable changes and updates to the site cable plant drawings as they occur.
  • Update and maintain all OSP, ISP, and remote communications facilities drawings in the CAD system.
  • Coordinate drawings with BCITS project management and systems engineer for critical systems engineering design reviews.
  • Assist in the organization of technical project design and management to include resource allocation, work breakout structure development, scheduling and work hour analysis.


Qualifications

2+ years experience in Autodesk/AutoCAD and MS Visio. HS diploma or GED required; Associate's degree desired. Autodesk certification preferred. Experience in an IT/telecommunication cable plant infrastructure operating environment. Must have experience with AutoCAD/Autodesk, CIPS/CVC, ArcGIS, and Visio. Able to review and assess site cable plant and equipment layout drawings. Must be detail oriented and maintain documentation related to projects. Able to work independently or as part of a team and communicate efficiently with all levels of an organization. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
