What you'll be doing...

The Data Engineering team is seeking a seasoned leader to define, drive and execute the strategy, vision, and implementation for our Value data engineering and products. This leader will be responsible for driving the future of Value data products for VCG.

As the leader, you will achieve these through the build out of digital & AI-first data products, analytical assets and data products such as Consumer Data Platform for Value, Journey as a Product etc. You will be responsible for maintaining the data pipeline quality, integrity, and play a critical role in building the data products that are used by Value Marketing, Sales , Finance and strategy teams.

In this role you will be responsible for consolidating all the 8 Value brands data into Google Cloud by building a Unified Data Model using the SID taxonomy. You will also be responsible for building reusable core data products that can be leveraged by the base management, digital marketing, local marketing and Data Analytics & reporting teams. You will be closely working with the AI Center team to build Model Ready data to assist building AI Models to retain customers , reduce churn and grow revenue. You will also be responsible for the data enablement for real-time signals from omni-channel interactions and transactions

  • Leading the Enterprise Data Analytics transformation to a hybrid cloud based North Star architecture.

  • Overseeing a global team of 3 FTEs (across US and India)

  • Establishing a standard design & architecture operating model for new programs and low code / no code design approach to enable speed to market

  • Building reusable core data products for sales, marketing, Data Analytics & reporting and strategy teams to enable prediction & simulation

  • Building derived data products to enable promotions strategy, journey orchestration & operational efficiency strategy

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field is preferred

  • Six or more years of data engineering experience

  • Three or more years of managing a highly technical team

  • Experience in Google Cloud Platform technologies like Big query, Composer, and Dataflow

  • Proven track record in designing and building the infrastructure for data extraction, preparation, and loading of data from SQL, Non -SQL and Big data environments

  • Experience in building quality, scalable data engineering pipelines

  • Have experience delivering services used by others, and have supported those users with the adoption of solutions/services.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner

  • Track record of successfully operating within a highly matrixed work environment, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders

  • Track record of building successful partnerships within GTS

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus towards action and results

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience driving Marketing transformation programs for / at fortune 100 companies

  • Implemented customer/prospect reference data products

  • Strong analytical skills and a hypothesis-driven approach to problem solving

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of Verizon products, services, and associated processes

  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines

  • Cross-functional change leadership: ensuring buy-in within the organization and from peer organizations to drive process change
