To learn more about our brands visit www.apog.com Position Summary As the Sr. Director of Tax, you will lead and manage the organization's tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions. This role is responsible to ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax laws, optimize the company's tax position, support M&A activities, and develop strategies that align with business goals. Responsibilities Tax strategy and planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and support the company's financial goals.
- Provide expert guidance on the tax implications of business operations, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations to mitigate risks and minimize tax expense.
Tax compliance
- Oversee and ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of all federal, state, local, and international tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations, including income tax, sales/use tax, property tax, and payroll tax.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities and handle tax audits, inquiries, and disputes effectively.
Financial reporting and analysis
- Lead the preparation and review of tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and disclosures for financial statements in compliance with ASC 740 or other relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to provide accurate tax estimates, forecasts, and analysis for financial planning.
Leadership and collaboration
- Build and lead a high-performing tax team by hiring, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Risk management and governance
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure tax compliance and mitigate risks.
- Monitor global tax developments and assess their potential impact on the organization.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA or MBT are highly desirable
- Minimum of 10 years' progressive tax experience, including at least 3 years in leadership roles in corporate tax or public accounting
- Strong expertise in corporate tax compliance
- Experience managing tax audits, disputes, and negotiations with tax authorities
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and international tax regulations
- Proficiency in tax software and financial systems.
- Strong business partnership and service mindset for business partnership and outcomes.
- Experience managing and developing a team
Travel Requirements
- Travel anticipated approximately 5%
