About the Role: We are looking for a Market Developer to join our Ophthalmic Internal Venture. In this role, you will shape the market strategy for our novel and innovative products. Your contributions will transform our startup venture into a successful commercial business. As a critical member of the Ophthalmic team, you will develop and execute a market strategy and plan for our pipeline of current and future products. You will bring these highly unique and valuable therapies to a broad patient population, across broad geographies. You will join a vibrant and fast-paced startup environment where speed to hitting to milestones with the greatest efficiency is the currency.

This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, hybrid or fully remote work allowed in most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Pay and Benefits:



  • $200,000 - $250,000 per year
  • Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop market strategy for the Ophthalmic portfolio, including go-to market, global regulatory, reimbursement, and global launch strategies
  • Develop a market plan, including market awareness programs, engaged Medical Advisory Boards and KOL's
  • Be a critical inputter to R&D, pre-clinical and clinical studies
  • Proven track record in leading R&D teams and mentoring team members


Required Qualifications:



  • An advanced degree (ie: MBA or PhD in Science or Engineering)
  • Minimum 25 years experience being a leader in Ophthalmic devices in the capacity of R&D and market development
  • A proven track record in the ideation, development, clinical and regulatory execution and market introduction of ophthalmic medical devices in multiple markets around the globe
  • Ability to travel as business demands (up to 50%), including spending extended times with the Ophthalmic team in Maryland
