ABOUT THE JOB The Controller will oversee the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, the maintenance of internal controls to ensure compliance, and the preparation of financial reports. The position is responsible for direct oversight of general accounting, internal auditing, and payroll. Working closely with management team, and the accounting and administrative support staff, the Controller will develop and improve reporting systems, policies and procedures which meet the needs of both internal and external customers. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Oversee all financial reporting and overseeing all accounting operations with emphasis on internal controls. * Manage the financial statement preparation and month-end close process each month * Lead financial statement audit and tax return preparation * Monthly reporting to managers on budget to actual, including commentary on key variances. * Manage fixed asset accounting, including preparation of depreciation schedules. * Continued implementation of process improvements, both in the accounting department and throughout the organization * Oversee the budget process and prepare annual budget and forecasts; develop projections and analysis with recommendations and conclusions for management. * Overall, key leader within the organization should be a go-to resource to assist team members with finding solutions to business problems. * Select, coach, and develop staff. * Set clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team with appropriate clarity to drive company and growth initiatives.
