The Engineer, Network supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Firm's global network infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and efficiency across LAN, WAN, wireless, and security services. This role requires expertise in Cisco networking, SASE solutions, and cloud-based security frameworks to optimize performance and enforce security standards. Key responsibilities include administering and enhancing network technologies such as switching, wireless, firewalls, VPN, and routing protocols, integrating them seamlessly into the Firm's technology portfolio. The Network Engineer provides strategic input on IT infrastructure, aligning it with zero-trust architectures and cloud security models. Additionally, this role collaborates with TECH teams to implement best practices for network administration, security, and performance optimization while supporting mission-critical operations and long-term business objectives. Perform any other duties as required by the Firm.
Duties and Accountabilities1
Network Administration & Support
- Design, configure, and manage Cisco-based network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
- Deploy and maintain Cisco VPN solutions, ensuring secure remote connectivity.
- Optimize routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP for efficient traffic management.
- Oversee the administration of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and network access control.
- Implement and support SASE solutions to ensure secure, cloud-delivered networking.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain firewall policies and network security controls to protect against threats.
- Work with security teams to integrate Cisco SASE solutions for a secure hybrid work environment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data protection and regulatory requirements.
- Enhance Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) frameworks using SASE components.
Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization
- Conduct root cause analysis of network issues and implement resolutions.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity using Cisco Prime Infrastructure, SolarWinds, or similar tools.
- Perform firmware updates, patches, and system upgrades as needed.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with cross-functional IT teams to support business operations.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and incident reports.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network administration and support for a medium to large geographically dispersed enterprise.
- Experience in enterprise-level network environments, preferably in a global setting.
- Experience in the operation and implementation of technologies in a physical/virtualized Microsoft and Cisco-dominated environment, preferably at a medium to large-sized organization.
- Proven ability to work effectively within teams of highly skilled technical professionals.
- Strong ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and interpersonal issues.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to travel or work overtime as needed including weekends.
Certifications:
- Cisco CCNA (Required)
- Cisco CCNP (Preferred)
- Additional certifications such as CCIE, CISSP are a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS/NX-OS and configuration of network devices.
- Proficiency in LAN/WAN technologies, VLANs, and subnetting.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco firewalls.
- Understanding of wireless networking (Cisco WLC/9800 series, APs).
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge of Ansible, Python, or automation tools is a plus.
- Experience with SASE solutions, Zero Trust architectures, and SD-WAN technologies.
Soft Skills:

- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
