How You Will Contribute:

This new role serves as key contributor to Ciena's Global Marketing Programs Team. The primary function will be to support cross-Program initiatives to drive operational efficiencies and consistency, process management, and regular internal communications - allowing Program Managers to focus on delivering impactful programs and campaigns to market.

You'll need strong communication and relationship-building skills, using these traits to collaboratively problem-solve with the people and teams around you. You thrive in a dynamic, new role that will evolve to meet the growing demands of the Global Marketing Programs team.

Responsibilities will include:

Budget Management:

• Manage the global programs budget holistically across multiple programs; prepare monthly and quarterly reports of spend vs forecast.

• Facilitate accounting-related requests including PO creation, supplier set-up, invoicing, accruals and payment tracking, as well as support contract workflows/approvals.

• Collaborate across multiple stakeholders to ensure budget is accurately reflected and documented.

Process Management:

• Develop and maintain program processes that enable a consistent, self-service model for program execution.

• Work collaboratively with other marketing team stakeholders to continually assess and evolve processes to scale across programs.

• Support content management intake process and follow up to ensure content is moving within the digital asset management system.

• Ensure a high level of satisfaction with internal and cross functional marketing contributors while promoting standards, evaluating effectiveness of our ways-of-working, and making recommendations for improvement.

Internal Communication:

• Document Programs team successes and support communications to the greater marketing team to evangelize the value of Global Programs.

• Develop and maintain internal SharePoint page for Global Programs.

• Manage Programs input to the monthly GM&C newsletter.

Team efficiency and organization:

• Organize and support team correspondence, file share (Marketing 360/ DE-Programs SharePoint), calendars, and project management-related resources and tasks.

• Participate in group planning meetings and generate minutes/notes reporting as reference materials; maintain respective content repository

• Act as liaison between programs and marketing operations/ marketo teams to support a consistent approach to data management across programs

• Provide ad-hoc operations support, as needed, to improve functionality of Programs team.

The Must Haves:

• 3+ years of project or program management in a marketing organization or agency

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and experience with accounting software such as Oracle and Allocadia.

• Proficient in project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices; experience using Smartsheet and Jira is a plus.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

• Advanced English level is required (writing, speaking and understanding)

• Detail oriented and operate with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes

• Advanced communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; both written and oral

• Operate with high degree of professionalism and urgency when appropriate

• Personal commitment to service and building positive relationships

• Team player with a collaborative approach to projects and problem solving

• Ability to workin a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to partner effectively and work with minimal direction, showing strong initiative

Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $74, 700 - $119, 300
The annual pay range for this position in the USA is $83, 200 - $132, 800
