Job Summary

This is a full-time, year round Counseling Center staff position. This position will provide culturally informed, direct client care to students. This person will also collaborate with the Associate Director/Training Director to provide oversight of the externship and practicum program, engage in consultation services; provide supervision to trainees and staff, and share crisis on-call responsibilities. Position may provide in-person and virtual therapy services. Participate in general Student Affairs functions as a member of an Office within Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS).

Essential Functions



  • Provide culturally informed individual counseling, group therapy, initial assessments, crisis intervention, and referral services to students.
  • Demonstrate commitment, skill and experience in diversity and inclusion programming and clinical expertise in working with traditionally underserved or marginalized populations.
  • Provide consultation to faculty, staff and administration regarding students.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups, support groups, and conduct workshops on mental health-related topics.
  • Provide supervision for trainees and staff.
  • Maintain APA professional ethics in all areas.
  • Participate in weekly clinical supervision.
  • Attend Counseling Center Staff meetings; divisional meetings as needed.
  • Manages training programs in absence of Training Director.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for the externship program.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by Associate Director/Training Director and Executive Director.
  • Work one evening a week.


Required Qualifications



  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pre- or post-doctoral experience.
  • Ability to work 1 evening a week.
  • Must be license eligible to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Experience providing personal counseling, crisis intervention, assessment and consultation to late adolescent/ early adult population and non-traditional students.
  • Commitment and experience working with students with multiple marginalized intersecting identities, international students, veterans; providing culturally informed counseling, crisis intervention and consultation.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630 - $93,950 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
