DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, performs in depth complex daily CPT, HCPC, and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding of inpatient and outpatient charge documents received from physicians for radiology imaging such as: Diagnostic, MRI, Ultrasounds, CT's, etc. Accurately interpret handwritten notes/diagnoses and convert them into CPT/HCPC/ICD-9/ICD-10 codes.

Retrieve all pertinent charging information through HCRT an IDX systems for professional fee coding purposes. Batch and review all charges for data entry readiness. Prepare memos to physicians/staff regarding abstract feedback as needed. Performs other related functions as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).

  • Must have three (3) years of comparable coding experience (Radiology coding experience).

  • Strong skills in CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS professional coding applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • RHIA and/or RHIT Certification.

  • A Bachelor's Degree.

  • EPIC experience.

  • 3M experience

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $70,199 - $87,258 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $33.62 - $41.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
