Position Summary The College of Business at Eastern New Mexico University is an ACBSP accredited school that seeks candidates for a full-time tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Economics or for a full-time Instructor of Economics. Candidates must be able to teach macroeconomics, preference will be given to candidates who can also teach in other areas of business. This is a residential appointment starting in August 2025, with the candidate expected to relocate to the Portales, New Mexico area. The college provides quality, student focused business education preparing individuals for professional careers, graduate studies, and lifelong learning.

Duties and Responsibilities: This position may require additional teaching responsibilities. Faculty responsibilities include:
- Teach (12 credit hour load) as assigned each semester in face-to-face, lecture-capture and/or web platforms
- Candidates must be able to teach macroeconomics, preference will be given to candidates who can also teach in other areas of business
- Provide advising for undergraduate students (residential and distance students)
- Assist with development of new curriculum and assessment to support program-learning outcomes
- Serve on departmental and university committees
- Develop appropriate scholarly activity commensurate with experience (tenure track)
- Complete appropriate professional development commensurate with experience (Instructor)
- Contract is for nine (9) months.
- Work is primarily done on campus during the work week with an expectation of being physically at work and available to work with students.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- All candidates for the assistant professor position must have a terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in an economics discipline.
- ABD candidates may be considered for the Instructor position.
- Candidates for the Instructor position must have either an MBA or a Master's Degree in Economics.
- Candidates must be able to teach macroeconomics, preference will be given to candidates who can also teach in other areas of business.
- Teaching experience in Web-based instruction and/or distance education is highly desirable.
- Industry experience is highly desirable.

- The position requires the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions: Work is performed during normal work hours but may require some evening or weekend hours. Work is sedentary in nature and may require exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a consistent amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
