Primary Function

The Product Engineer works in the Product Engineering department located in our Commercial Engineering facility in McBee, SC. The Product Engineer must have some expertise in an adjacent or related field. The Product Engineer performs advanced engineering tasks under supervision by a senior engineer. The Product Engineer provides technical leadership and guidance and assists in training less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge of an engineering specialty.
  • Supports engineering functions for a product or a product family from design through production.
  • Provides direct support to the manufacturing team on product-related improvements and issue resolutions.
  • Provides technical solutions to help solve manufacturing issues or address customer field issues; has some familiarity with multiple operations.
  • Plans, conducts, and coordinates engineering assignments, normally involving several smaller projects or one large project.
  • Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.
  • Document testing and generate reports as appropriate.
  • Perform engineering tasks under limited supervision.
  • User of CAE tools such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, etc.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Participates in planning objectives and in brainstorming activities for specific needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineeringor Associate's degree in Engineering with related work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills; able to solve problems.
  • Excellent communication skills with other engineering functions including design, process, production, quality, and reliability.
  • Fundamental understanding of problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis.
  • Experience with CAE tools such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP and MRP systems is a plus.
  • Six Sigma or FMEA experience is a plus.
