Your Impact
In this role you will be responsible for analyzing telemetry data from our games using Python and R, transforming the raw telemetry into meaningful scoring opportunities.
In addition to supporting our scoring, you will be responsible for generating analytical reports explaining those scores.
To accomplish these collaborative tasks, our data scientists work with a team of game designers, engineers, product specialists, cognitive scientists and psychometricians.
To be successful in the role you will need expertise in data cleaning, data analysis, machine learning, and visualization techniques. Writing performant code that can be deployed in a live environment is essential.
Your Growth
You will be connected to one of our US offices as part of the Game-Based Innovations Lab.
The Game-Based Innovations Lab is a team of approximately 20 scientists, game designers, engineers and product specialists that use their deep expertise in the fields of psychometrics, learning science, data science and gaming design and technology to develop measurement and assessment products.
To date our biggest use cases are in recruiting and learning and development. But we are looking to grow and expand to deliver impact in additional interesting and compelling areas.
The Game-Based Innovations Lab is part of a broader community of talented people measurement and analytics professionals who are globally respected as leaders in their field.
Your qualifications and skills
  • Proficiency in Python and R: Strong experience in developing and debugging Python and R scripts
  • Statistical Analysis: Strong understanding of statistical methods and their applications, including hypothesis testing and regression analysis
  • Predictive Modeling: Ability to develop, validate, and implement predictive models to forecast future trends
  • Database Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL and PostgreSQL for effective data management and analysis
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to derive actionable insights from complex data sets
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions
  • Effective Remote Working: Proven track record of delivering outcomes in remote and distributed team

For new joiners for this role in Canada and/or the United States, including all office locations where the job may be performed, a reasonable estimated range is $136,900 - $164,800 in USD and $152,400 - $156,300 in CAD - to help you understand what you can expect. This reflects our best estimate of the lowest to highest salary for this role at the time of this posting, ensuring you have a clear picture right from the start, though it's important to remember that actual salaries may vary. Factors like your office location, your unique blend of experience and skills, start date and our current organizational needs all play a part in determining the final figure. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey's discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
