PURPOSE: Act as a floor manager seeing to day to day needs of team members and the operation of the Rides department. Lead the team by example in your approach to solving problems and following department procedure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:



  • Lead Rides team emphasizing safety, guest service and compliance with MOA policies and standards.


  • Assist in managing daily staffing including shift assignments, breaks, and interdepartmental staffing.


  • Address team member performance concerns, giving immediate feedback focusing on improvement.


  • Assist with documentation of employee performance issues, communicating with department supervisors as needed.


  • Copy radio calls and prioritize tasks as they are communicated.


  • Utilize provided radio to communicate and coordinate tasks with other team leads and supervisors.


  • Support team members by resolving complex guest concerns, responding to calls in a timely manner and assisting during busy periods as able.


  • Explain and enforce ticket policies for Nickelodeon Universe and other attractions.


  • Take initiative with projects, problem solving, and decision making.


  • Regularly work independently with minimal supervision.


  • Ensure safety is prioritized by conducting safety walks, demonstrating safety procedures, conducting safety audits, and addressing team member safety concerns.


  • Facilitate pre-shift meetings (Take5) which includes communicating relevant news and making independent decisions to ensure coverage at each location.


  • Manage staffing levels and breaks according to department needs, including interdepartmental staffing.


  • Verify team members are prepared for shift and following with MOA policy before being sent to their shift location.


  • Train team members for the Ride Operator role adapting to individual learning styles while maintaining consistency with coverage of materials.


  • Recognize positive team member performances and share team member success with supervisors.


  • Act as a leader in safety during weather, lockdown, lost child, and other security procedures.


  • Ensure clear interdepartmental communication.


  • Provide assistance to guests with complex needs and in situations that require a leader to resolve.


  • Perform opening procedures and verify closing procedures have been completed at each ride daily.


  • Ensure overall cleanliness and safety of the work area.


  • Serve as on-duty leader in the absence of a Rides Supervisor.


  • Act as a leader in safety during weather, lockdown and other security procedures.


  • Act as a Ride Trainer and Ride Operator as needed.


  • Cross train with other MOA departments, and willing to regularly be assigned to assist as needed.


  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and high volume days.


  • Additional duties as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age.


  • Strong problem solving, multitasking, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.


  • Basic computer skills.


  • Excellent listening and written and verbal communication skills.


  • Able to mentally multi-task.


  • Able to operate every ride in the Park.


  • Prior Mall of America experience preferred.


  • At least one year previous amusement park experience strongly preferred.


  • At least one year previous guest service experience preferred.



PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member will frequently be required to speak and listen to guests in order to understand their needs and communicate a solution. Team member must also possess a level of hearing that will continuously allow them to be aware of their surroundings and recognize when a guest needs their attention. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team members are required to be able to tolerate multiple sensory stimuli at once while performing their duties. These stimuli may include: loud auditory/noise, smells/olfactory, bright lights, colors, motion, and other visual stimuli.

  • Dexterity: Frequently, about 75% of the time


  • Use of both hands required to operate rides and maintain safety standards

Starting pay:

$17.59
