Summary

The Director, EMS Education reports to the Vice President, Education and Administration. The director leads all aspects of the department's initial education programs providing leadership to its faculty and staff members and all programs offered by the Grady EMS Education Academy. The director, serving as the Education Program Director, will maintain a working knowledge of standards, policies, practices, and recommendations provided by national and state regulatory and/or national accreditation agencies for maintaining CAAHEP accreditation. The director will work collaboratively with the program medical director and advisory committee to maintain program accreditation and to ensure the program maintains the highest quality education standards. This position will work collaboratively with the Director, EMS Quality and Training, to ensure all EMS education, training, and quality goals, measures, and initiatives are met.

Qualifications
The following qualifications are required:


  • Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Six (6) or more years of experience in pre-hospital emergency medical service provider including four (4) years of experience in instruction and instructional leadership.
  • Experience as a CAAHEP/CoAEMSP appointed Program Director.
  • National Registry Paramedic Certification.
  • Georgia Paramedic license.
  • Field experience in the delivery of out-of-hospital emergency care.
  • Georgia EMS Instructor Level III.
  • American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) Instructor.
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor.
  • Experience with CAAHEP accreditation process and CoAEMSP accreditation standards.
  • Valid Georgia's Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of National EMS Scope of Practice.
  • Knowledge of National EMS Education Standards.
