AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational and supplying electric vehicle batteries for the Nissan LEAF since 2012, was retooled in 2025 and now produces batteries for Energy Storage Systems. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply next generation cells for BMW starting in 2026. About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

Network architecture and Design:

  • Develop comprehensive network designs that address both current and future organizational needs, considering factors like scalability, security, and redundancy. Manufacturing experience a PLUS.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure that network designs adhere to stringent security protocols and standards.

Tier 3 Support:

  • Provide hands-on technical expertise for the most complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution.
  • Document and implement lessons learned from outages and downtime.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on regional/plant network issues, solutions, and configurations to ensure faster resolutions in the future.
  • Collaborate with tier 1 and tier 2 support teams and ensure they are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge.

Collaboration and Consultation:

  • Lead discussions with business units to understand their specific network needs and translate those into technical requirements.
  • Work closely with vendors, evaluating and recommending network products and solutions that align with the company's objectives.

Management and Leadership:

  • Oversee regional network projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning, encouraging team members to stay updated with the latest in network technologies and methodologies.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with internal teams to ensure alignment and address any challenges promptly.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives to optimize and upgrade the network infrastructure, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of technology adoption.
  • Regularly review and analyze network performance metrics, identifying areas of improvement and implementing solutions.

Documentation and Standardization Development:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the overall network architecture, configurations, standards, and procedures.
  • Lead the creation of a centralized knowledge repository that is accessible to global teams, ensuring that documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and effectively structured.
  • Champion the development and continuous refinement of network standards and best practices to be adopted across the organization.
  • Facilitate cross-regional collaboration to ensure network design and documentation consistency, aiding in swift and precise issue resolution.
  • Implement documentation version control and review processes to keep pace with network changes and updates.
  • Coordinate with global IT teams to align regional documentation with global network strategies and ensure standardization across all platforms and projects.
