New Student Programs

Job Description

This position will serve as the primary support person to the department manager as well as perform office and administrative support to the office of New Student Programs (NSP).

Duties include

  • Create and disseminate event lists using Slate and serve as event liaison for campus partners when appropriate
  • Order supplies and equipment from outside vendors
  • Schedule appointments, meetings rooms, equipment, etc. as requested by professional staff
  • Greet office visitors, answer phones, and respond to inquiries regarding office policies, etc.
  • Contact and describe problems to technical representatives regarding software / hardware malfunction
  • Assist with event planning and execution in compliance with university regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Take minutes at various department and committee meetings; serve as committee secretary
  • Communicate and plan with student workers keeping within NSP budget to order supplies for various NSP events
  • Organize and maintain NSP budget and paperwork with NSP manager
  • Order lunch vouchers and organize catering for all NSP events and PRO Leader events and training
  • Contribute and help organize student hiring processes
  • Maintain online registrations and report issues with accounts to Manager and/or IT
  • Work closely with Student workers in the form of: regular meetings, team building activities, collaboration of event planning, communication of supply needs, monitoring of office hours and duties
  • Monitor and edit NSP Website and Online Orientation as needed for changes in information, policies, and content
  • Maintain PCI compliance for Office of New Student Programs
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years in higher education, customer service, event planning, marketing, or other highly interactive promotional field
  • Strong organizational skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, and excellent interpersonal skills
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00-$17.68 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
