Position Summary: The Collector's main responsibilities include managing an individual collection queue of 50-100 accounts, making outbound collection calls, establishing payment arrangements with delinquent customers, documenting all conversations with customers and systematically following up on delinquent accounts. Answers incoming calls as necessary.

Hours: Full-Time (40 hours) Monday - Friday 8:15 AM - 5:15 PM, Varied Saturdays 8:15 AM - 12:15 PM

Essential Functions:



  • Embrace the Union Bank culture by delivering a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Serve as a translator for customers and employees to assist customers with financial needs and problem resolution.
  • Maintain responsibility for cash drawer and follow proper balancing procedures.
  • Accept and accurately process all financial transactions.
  • Research and resolve customer questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for assisting in branch with digital product and services and maintaining appropriate knowledge of software, products, fees and policies, promotions and technical support skills necessary for all products and services offered.
  • Evaluate risk based on account review and appropriate discovery with each customer to increase various banking limits up to approved amount.
  • Quickly assess probable fraudulent situations, both a customer who is attempting a form of fraud, or a situation our customer may be defrauded in, and educate accordingly. Collaborate with Financial Crimes workgroup regarding such scenarios.
  • Cross sell other bank services and refer customers to other departments to help achieve goals set by management.
  • Proactively participate in ongoing trainings, coaching, and mandatory meetings to ensure continued growth.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job functions that apply to designated job responsibilities.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training: follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma.
  • Fluent in Spanish required.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Previous sales and customer service experience preferred.
  • Effective communicator - promotes Union Bank's customer service philosophy.
  • Basic math skills and proficient computer/digital skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.


Working Environment:

Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards

Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time

Some sedentary work lifting and/carrying up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
