The Role:

The International Transport Specialist role is primarily responsible for the management and optimization of all the import and export supply chain, including regulatory efforts, by managing 3rd party activities associated with International trade ensuring we operate with high standards of cost efficiency, operational quality and service to internal and external customers. The International Transport Specialist is also responsible to proceed all invoice on a timely manner. The position further will be responsible for the management of all outbound transportation functions related to Import and Export, including the preparation of shipping documents. This activity requires close coordination with internal customers and vendors to ensure timely delivery to customers.

The position will be onsite in Keokuk.

Compensation:

The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $70,965-$94,100. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

What You'll Do:

Primary Functions-Trade 50%

  • Maintain and communicate tracking information for Air and Ocean Import shipments to Warehouses.
  • Manage diversion and rework activities for Imports in support of customer capabilities and load integrity.
  • Manage rate quotes and loads for Exports via Air and Ocean.
  • Forwarders and Brokers for Exports.
  • Support NAFTA/USMCA and COO certifications for Exports.
  • Develop continuous improvement activities in support of reducing costs and improving service for Import/ Export Transportation modes to internal and external customers.
  • Determine communication, implementation and compliance for the RAI Transportation group with Global/Regional/Local standards and policies (Directives, Manuals, Procedures, etc.).
  • Manage matters related to import/ export tariffs, markets, and federal and foreign regulations
  • Participate in and report on major Global/Regional/Local International trade projects involving Transportation (C-TPAT, Duty Drawback, etc.).
  • Check, enter and confirm invoice receipted Ensure finance department received invoices and able to proceed for payment on time Liaise with supplier / partner if needed to smooth process.

Secondary Functions- Invoicing 50%

  • Support team on invoicing part when needed
  • Backup CCT in issuing and auditing Import documents, customer support communication and with arranging inland shipments to Canada/Mexico customers.
  • Support investigation of import/export-related customer complaints.
  • Support Import/Export projects and activities, including Requests for Quote (RFQ).
  • Support outbound transportation RFQ process as a member of the Purchasing-Logistics team.
  • Regularly monitor industry activities to remain current with industry and regulatory trends.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related business field preferred. Relevant experience in a related field.
  • 5 years' experience managing International transportation.;10 years preferred
  • Knowledge on domestic transportation appreciated
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Import/Export rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams and create customized transportation solutions for the customer.
  • Proficiency of computer applications, including MS Office Suite, and MS Excel, in particular.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must have effective written and oral communication skills pursuant to effective customer service.
  • Must be well-organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. SAP experience; preferred (TM/Fiori/ECC)
  • Must be able to work both independently - and with both domestic and international teams - to resolve discrepancies and develop preventive actions.
  • Must be able to understand act on import/export matters of tariffs, markets, and federal and foreign regulations
  • Periodic travel, including overseas, to be determined by Manager.
