Are you passionate about the legal field and eager to gain hands-on experience in legal recruiting? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Intern to join our Lateral Recruiting team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide general assistance to our non-partner hiring efforts across the US.

Location: Austin or Houston, TX

Duration: May 2025 - August 2025

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with other members of the Legal Recruiting team

  • Conduct market research and prepare market mapping to identify potential candidates

  • Coordinate with search firms and candidates

  • Source candidates and review candidate materials

  • Schedule interviews and facilitate travel, securing conference rooms and coordinating on the ground logistics with various offices

  • Collect & distribute interview feedback

  • Process and track third-party background checks

  • Process and track conflicts

  • Manage search firm agreements

  • Accurately track all candidates and provide status updates to the Director of Legal Recruiting, Director of Lateral Hiring, and Lateral Hiring Managers

  • Manage positions with vendors, firm website, and third-party listings

  • Prepare new-hire paperwork

  • Assist with coordinating new-hire orientation and onboarding

  • Coordinate payment of expenses and budget tracking

  • Provide reports and statistical data as needed

  • Work closely with the greater Legal Recruiting team to assist with ad hoc projects as needed

  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:
  • Active enrollment in undergraduate university strongly preferred

  • Prior professional experience preferred

  • Available to work full-time during the summer and part-time once school resumes

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills

  • Good judgement and accountability for delivering excellent service

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Ability to build relationships, be proactive, stay organized, and multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong presentation skills combined with confidence and poise

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to adapt to new software
