Description

As a Corporate Development Intern, you will work closely with our Corporate Development team to support various strategic initiatives. This internship will provide you with an opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the industry, research competitive trends, and assist in refining our transaction playbook.

Ports America is a leader in the port and terminal services industry, committed to providing innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. We are seeking a motivated Corporate Development Intern to join our dynamic team and gain valuable experience in the field of mergers and acquisitions. This internship is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in a critical area of our business, where you can contribute to the strategic growth and development of Ports America.

Essential Duties:



  • Develop a strong understanding of Ports America's industry and research/monitor trends and developments in the competitive landscape.
  • Support the team in researching and compiling data on Ports America's competitive landscape.
  • Assist in refining Ports America's transaction and integration playbook and organizing/synthesizing data for the company's inorganic pipeline.
  • Support the team on ad-hoc strategic requests, participating in meetings, and taking notes as appropriate.


Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, Certifications):



  • Junior in College Majoring in Finance / Accounting/ Business Administration/Business Management or related field of study


Preferred Requirements:



  • 3.0 GPA or higher

  • Strong understanding of the M&A lifecycle.



  • Excellent research skills with the ability to break down information into clear, actionable insights.



  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).



  • Professional demeanor with a well-organized approach to tasks.



  • Attention to detail and the ability to carry out tasks independently.


  • Ability to meet deadlines with competing high-priority and sensitive projects.


Internship Details



  • The start date will be Monday, June 2nd, 2025
  • The internship will last approximately 8-10 weeks, ending on Friday, August 15th, 2025
  • This is a full-time internship (up to 30-40 hours a week, Mon- Friday)
  • The format is expected to be in-person at Port or office location


Selection Process

  • Different internships will have different timelines for interviews


Compensation & Benefits



  • The hourly rate range is $25.00
  • Continuing to develop your skills and experience at a growing organization
