Required Qualifications: * Associate degree in an engineering discipline with two or more years of experience in drafting support for complex multi-discipline systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * 5+ years of experience SolidWorks with the ability to create 3D models and engineering drawings, as well as manipulate scanned images. * Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). * Experience with weld selection, process design, and machine design. * Experience with large-scale assemblies, machined part design, and piping design/P&ID. * Ability to prepare engineering drawings using SolidWorks (primary software) and AutoCAD (secondary software as needed). * Ability to interpret and convert legacy vellum engineering drawings into modern CAD models and detailed engineering drawings. * Experience with configuration control, revision tracking, and compliance with industry drafting standards. * Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve model design and interface issues with system engineers. * Ability to produce multi-system, multi-discipline installation drawings and specifications. * Experience preparing clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings from layouts, sketches, electronic databases, or verbal instructions. * Ability to work within a structured drawing management process to maintain accuracy and completeness of HFIR engineering documentation. * Must be eligible for access to export-controlled technology. Preferred Qualifications: * Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or equivalent certification. * Experience working within a nuclear, DOE, or highly regulated engineering environment. * Experience supporting Design Basis Reconstitution efforts in a nuclear or industrial facility. * Familiarity with HFIR systems, components, and technical requirements. * Knowledge of welding processes, materials selection, and ASME pressure vessel/piping codes (e.g., ASME Section III, VIII, B31.1). * Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for CAD model and drawing control. * Proficiency with advanced SolidWorks features, such as parametric modeling, large assembly management, and simulation tools. * Experience with reverse engineering and digitizing legacy drawings into modern CAD systems. * Familiarity with DOE design and engineering standards. |
