Position Purpose: Administer the company's business licensing obligations per MJE and regulatory guidelines. Along with a variety of clerical and administrative support to operations. Essential Responsibilities * Research, analyze, secure and maintain all state, county & municipal contractor licenses required to perform electrical construction work in all 50 states and multiple municipal regulatory environments * Procure surety bonds as needed to comply with municipal, contractual & union requirements * Fulfill renewal requirements for business licensing, working closely with MJE business license holders * Prepare & provide reports and other documentation to management as requested, including licensing status * Crosstrain on other job duties within the department to assist during periods of absence, including but not limited to: * Assist in securing certificates of insurance from subcontractors in strict compliance with company guidelines and contractual obligations * Administration and monitoring of insurance certificates and related records to ensure continuous compliance * Distribute insurance & bond related information & instructions * Data entry * Miscellaneous filling, documentation and recordkeeping * Subcontract administration support * Handling of documents for subcontract signature and MJE execution Knowledge | Skills | Abilities * Basic knowledge of general office procedures and practices * Demonstrated ability in multi-tasking, prioritizing and data entry * Ability to anticipate and meet the needs of internal and external customers, and respond promptly to support operational needs * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines * Proven communication, organizational, and persuasive interpersonal skills * Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Adobe Acrobat * Prior licensing or regulatory compliance management experience * Ability to maintain confidentiality Qualifications * High School Diploma or Equivalent (Education beyond High School preferred) * 2 - 4 years of experience in construction administration or related field * Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position Work Environment * Must be able to remain in a stationary position over 50% of the time * The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. * Continuously operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, scanner, and computer printer * The person in this position frequently communicates with employees, coworkers, and municipal/state governmental coordinators and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations * Occasionally lifting 20 pounds |
