Role: SSIS Developer/Admin

Location: Troy, MI.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SSIS Developer/Admin to design, develop, and maintain ETL solutions using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The ideal candidate will have experience working with SQL Server, data warehousing, and ETL processes, ensuring efficient data integration and transformation.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement SSIS packages for ETL processes.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into SQL Server databases, data warehouses, or other destinations.
  • Optimize SSIS packages for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with database administrators, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve ETL job failures and performance issues.
  • Implement error handling, logging, and data validation mechanisms within SSIS packages.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to support ETL processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and quality standards.
  • Document SSIS processes, workflows, and best practices.
  • Install, configure, and manage SSIS servers and environments.
  • Deploy, schedule, and monitor SSIS packages to ensure smooth data integration and transformation processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SSIS job failures, performance issues, and connectivity problems.
  • Optimize SSIS performance by tuning memory usage, parallel execution, and resource allocation.
  • Implement logging, error handling, and automated alerts for SSIS packages.
  • Ensure SSIS security by managing roles, permissions, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and business stakeholders to support ETL processes.
  • Maintain SSIS servers by applying patches, updates, and upgrades as needed.
  • Document SSIS administration tasks, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in SSIS development and ETL processes.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, performance tuning).
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Knowledge of data migration, transformation, and integration techniques.
  • Experience in handling large datasets and optimizing ETL performance.
  • Familiarity with other ETL tools, Power BI, or SSRS is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,848 - $ 156,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
