Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Recruitment and Outreach directs planning and execution of programs and procedures for Fulbright College in support of achieving institutional and college recruitment, strategic enrollment management and student success goals.

This position creates and implements strategic student recruitment and marketing plans for the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and fine arts. There is strong collaboration with this position and career initiative directors, retention and overall student success. This position represents the institution and college at schools, campus visits, college fairs, community events, and other events while engaging with numerous constituents such as academic departments, alumni, community constituents, school officials, and prospective students. This position oversees the enrollment process for the college, analyzes enrollment data to identify trends and make data driven decisions. This position plans and manages communication campaigns to engage students and build the Fulbright College brand. The position leads a team and directs the work of recruiters, leads summer camps, preview days, and other recruitment and student engagement activities. This position also works to develop and implement strategies that improve student retention and success.

While responsible for the overall college recruitment strategy, the director will have a portfolio specifically for prospective students interested in natural sciences and social sciences with expectations to frequently travel. The position will also partner with the college by providing guidance on recruiting and retaining staff and faculty and assisting with faculty recruitment fairs.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least three years of experience in higher education admissions or general recruitment

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or 5 years of higher education recruitment experience

  • Experience in student recruitment, enrollment management, or related fields

  • Experience in strategic planning, marketing, developing and leading programs

  • Experience in leading and mentoring a team

  • Experience using CRM systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for this position (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of university and admissions office procedures and policies

  • Knowledge of the student life cycle and ability to lead recruitment and retention efforts and actively engage in recruitment efforts

  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office

  • Proven organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, demonstrate attention to detail, meet deadlines, and think creatively and critically

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with constituents within the university and the community

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, including the ability to present to a large audience

  • Evidence of a strong record of ability to use technology and data to inform decision-making

  • Ability to effectively lead, supervise, train, and mentor faculty, staff, and students

  • Ability to think and plan strategically

  • Ability and a willingness to work flexible hours in a highly fluid environment
