Reworld is a world leader in sustainable materials management. Our end-to-end platform provides services ranging from waste material handling, reuse, recycling, energy recovery, secure product destruction, industrial wastewater treatment and disposal, on-site cleaning, and transportation services. Reworld's recycling, material processing, and Thermomechanical Treatment (TTF) facilities are critical infrastructure for transitioning to a more circular economy. Our facilities provide environmentally superior options for landfilling, recovering resources for the global economy, and significantly reducing GHG emissions. What we do every day helps our communities, clients, and customers find practical solutions to significant societal challenges and needs: sustainable materials management, renewable energy, and global climate change mitigation. Annually, Reworld's modern WTE facilities safely convert approximately 21 million tons of waste from municipalities and businesses into clean, renewable electricity to power one million homes and recycle 550,000 tons of metal. Reworld envisions becoming a leader in sustainable materials management, circularity, and Zero-Waste-to-Landfill (ZWTL) solutions. To this end, Reworld will partner with municipal, industrial, and commercial customers to help them reduce the impact of their difficult-to-handle materials by moving them up the waste hierarchy and leveraging Reworld's unique ZWTL assets. Reworld will also focus on developing an end-to-end platform to holistically meet our customers' needs and build deep and trusting relationships with them. The Role Reporting to the Midwest President, the Regional Environmental Affairs Director is a brand-new role with the opportunity to lead environmental, sustainability, and compliance activities across the region, its facilities, and communities. This exciting position will design our regional sustainability and environmental strategy, ensuring local accountability, strong community involvement and partnership, and engagement from all functions. The Environmental Affairs Director will interface with existing and potential customers, communicate sustainability visions and goals effectively, and lead all efforts to uphold our sustainability promise. The successful candidate must have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in diverse environmental areas, including compliance, permitting, stack tests, sustainability, climate change, etc., and be willing to relocate). The expected salary for this position is $147,722 - $189,430. This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location.
