About the Position

Dexis seeks a Community Relations Specialist to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division to advance Corporate Communications. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) is a Department of Defense entity responsible for research and development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support organization for the Navy's ships, submarines, military watercraft and unmanned vehicles.

The NSWCPD Office of Corporate Communications provides strategic planning and execution support of communication as a function of the NSWCPD goals and requirements. NSWCPD is also responsible for informing stakeholders of technological advances, engaging stakeholders, and promoting success stories involving NSWCPD and partners across the Naval Sea Systems Command. This communication responsibility includes collaborating with research partners across academia, industry and other government organizations. NSWCPD oversees the development, implementation and execution of the command communication strategy, which includes planning and tactics across all targeted stakeholders.

This position is onsite 50 % of the time and may telework 50% of the time at a designated location in Philadelphia, PA and is contingent upon award.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute special events, manage logistics, and ensure alignment with public affairs objectives to promote the NSWCPD public image
  • Develop and execute comprehensive plans for community outreach programs
  • Plan and execute special events, ceremonies, and public engagements
  • Coordinate logistics and manage vendor relationships for events
  • Assist NSWCPD Corporate Communications in responding to media inquiries and ensuring accurate information dissemination


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Media Arts, Communications, or Marketing from a fully accredited institution, or mass communications specialist with Defense Information School (DINFOS) accreditation or at least (4) four years of active duty experience as a photo journalist.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the last seven (7) years in planning, coordinating, and executing ceremonies, events and tours.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance which requires a minimum of US Citizenship
  • Ability to reside and work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the duration of the contract.
  • Experience writing speeches, news articles, and briefs for information dissemination.
  • Experience coordinating internal personnel and resources for community relations events.

Below is the pay range aligned with this position. When developing a range, Dexis evaluates compensation holistically, triangulating between external market research, our budget for the position, and internal equity to arrive at a figure that is fair and competitive. Offers within this range will be based on an individual candidate's qualification, relevant education and experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs.

Dexis pay range for this role:
$60,000 $65,000 USD
