https://uaex.uada.edu/ Summary of Job Duties:The Extension Immunization Educator will lead efforts to enhance vaccine confidence and immunization education in rural and medically underserved communities across Arkansas and the Eastern region of Oklahoma. This position will collaborate with local partners, provide direct education, train Extension professionals, and build sustainable community partnerships to address vaccine hesitancy.

This position is initially funded through the EXCITE Regional Immunization Education Staffing Model, with the potential for expansion through additional grants and funding sources. Future programmatic responsibilities may evolve based on funding availability and organizational priorities, ensuring alignment with public health outreach and Cooperative Extension objectives. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in public health, health education, or a related field.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle. The flexibility to travel throughout the region as required.
  • Proficiency in using technology for educational outreach and program reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in community outreach, adult education, or public health programming.
  • Certification as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified in Public Health (CPH).
  • Certified Health Literacy Specialist or similar certification.
  • Experience working with Cooperative Extension programs or rural health initiatives.
  • Experience managing or securing grant funding for public health initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Ability to travel throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma as needed.
  • Knowledge of the principles & techniques of adult education.
  • Knowledge of the program planning, implementation, and evaluation process.
  • Knowledge of social determinants of health.
  • Skilled in verbal communication and presentation.
  • Ability to obtain & interpret research information.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of professional & lay audiences.
  • Ability to communicate and convey ideas effectively to faculty, stakeholder groups, and clientele.
  • Ability to travel frequently in-state & out-of-state.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Must be able to lift educational materials and equipment as needed.
