SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for defining and establishing best practices to improve and maintain employee efficiency and machine utilization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Support and understand metrics at individual, rotocube, 3S, and leadership meetings
  • Follow and execute kaizen principles
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Develop and implement lean projects.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • Support operations through data analysis and lean principles.
  • Analyze, understand, and implement industry best practices.
  • Develop a sense of urgency in the organization for all improvement activities.
  • Promote safety first and quality in all processes.
  • Partner with plant operations to teach and mentor manufacturing personnel.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Work with support functions in implementing lean, metrics, and dashboards for all processes.
  • Track project status and results.
  • Must be able to interact in person with peers and the public.
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Solid understanding of project management principles
  • Green Belt Certification required
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles and techniques


SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Knowledge of database, design, internet, inventory, manufacturing, spreadsheet, and order processing software.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail.
  • Able to map out projects, prioritize workload and keep accurate documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS



  • Frequently lift, move, or position materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must remain in a stationary or standing position for the length of the shift.
