The Thrift Store Back Room Worker picks up donations as scheduled for The Salvation Army. Unloads the donations at store, sorts and prices donations, runs the baler, and assists in maintaining organization and inventory of donations and supplies.

About the role:



  • Provides superior customer service in all duties, including greeting donors, assisting with loading / unloading of donations, issuing receipts, submitting receipt copies and all cash donations to the store manager.
  • Operates pallet jack and baler when needed.
  • Assists with organization of donations on the floor and in storage.
  • Trains and leads volunteers as directed by store manager.
  • Assists with outdoor and indoor (backroom) maintenance as needed. This may include sweeping, mopping, removing trash and sorting and tagging clothing/brick.


Education: N/A

Experience: One year job-related experience required. Must be at least 18 years old to drive and operate baler.

Certifications: Valid Wisconsin driver's license with approval to drive from TSA's insurance carrier.
