Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) seeks an experienced and competent leader to serve as the Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources will provide sound leadership and innovation to the HR department, improving the department's processes and procedures, and systems via enhanced technology use and greater utilization of the office's human capital. The Director serves as a member of Chancellor's Council (senior leadership) and reports directly to the Chancellor. Please see below for a general description of the duties in which this position is responsible.

A SUMMARY OF DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Oversees all human resource related functions for the college
*Manages HR staff and the operations of the department, including but not limited to recruiting, training, and benefits
*Develops and implements HR policies and procedures
*Manages employee relations and performance reviews
*Manages FMLA, ADA, and EEOC ensuring legal, federal and state compliance at all times
*Works cooperatively with UA System Benefits Department and the Department of Higher Education concerning personnel issues
*Serves as Workday (college operating system) HCM lead representing UACCM in personnel management, benefits, time and leave, and recruiting.
*Prepares legislative personnel requests, other state and federal reporting. Assist with budgeting as needed.
*Provides coaching, counsel, and support to employees and management in the area of personnel management
*Serves as Title IX Deputy on behalf of employees
*Maintains and advances job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities.
*Represents the College at various meetings and activities Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in personnel management, business, or related field

  • Three (3) years of practical work experience in the area of human resource and benefits management

  • Two (2) years of practical work experience in a supervisory role

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in personnel management, business, or related field

  • Five (5) years of practical work experience in the area of human resource and benefits management

  • Prior work experience with the Workday operating system.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality in all personnel matters

  • Proficient in the use of computer software and applications, such as but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.

  • Knowledge of office management principles, methods, and procedures.

  • Able to perform basic research, analyze information and prepare reports in a logical and informative manner.

  • Able to problem solve, organize, and prioritize work, multi-task, and be flexible and accepting of change.

  • Able to work effectively and cooperatively with people of various cultural backgrounds.

Able to work independently and/or cooperatively with a team to achieve the mission/goal.

Salary Information:

$50,000 to $60,000
