Job Summary

SCC is seeking a Director of Early College Programs at Scottsdale Community College

The Director will lead the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, recruitment, enrollment and retention of the Early Outreach College programs; Achieving a College Education (ACE), Hoop of Learning, Dual Enrollment, Concurrent Enrollment, and Junior ACE. This position is responsible for program development, employee training and supervision, coordination of efforts between SCC and community partners, budget oversight, program assessment, data collection and reporting, faculty qualifications related to accreditation, and leading the Dual Enrollment Team, as well as build a concurrent enrollment pipeline, and collaboration and engagement with SRPMIC, as it relates to Early College programming. The Director will work collaboratively with college and district personnel to develop effective communication campaigns and business processes as it relates to Early College Programs, for the tracking and data management of outreach and early college programs. The Director will lead efforts of collaboration between the academic units and student services to ensure appropriate coursework and course offerings for Early College Programs. The Director of Early College will support the vision and program development, operational assistance and counsel to executive leadership. This position often has evening, weekend, and in-person events.

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus, with the possibility of one day remote work depending on business needs and will require off site events, meetings, and engagements.

Essential Functions

30%- Lead a comprehensive Early College strategy to include setting goals and monitoring of metrics in collaboration with stakeholders, develop and maintain strong relationships with high school partners and ensure needs are being met in the area of recruitment and outreach specific to Early College programs. Acts as a liaison with faculty, administrators, staff and community partners as well as integrate Admissions, Records, and Registration protocols into daily outcomes to maintain District, State, and Federal compliance standards.

30%- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal personnel including SCC marketing department, academic department chairs, occupational program director and student affairs managers to develop a thorough understanding of the college culture, program and services; collaborate with students services programs and/or community agencies as needed to increase student success at SCC; may develop, coordinate, and participate in special programs designed to promote student retention. Plan, organizes, assign, supervise, review and evaluate the work of multiple units within Early College Programs to include Dual, concurrent enrollment, Jr. ACE, ACE, HOOP, and year long programming. Direct the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of district-wide student services programs, initiatives and related funding. Create the vision and measurable milestones pertaining to the implementation and continuous improvement of said units. Respond to and resolve difficult or complex inquiries, requests and complaints. Research, analyze, review and provide management reporting on program data, results and industry information.

15%- Direct the creation and communication strategies for prospective and admitted students utilizing customer relations management tools (CRMs) .i.e., letters, emails, texts, phone calls, etc. Lead the creation of reports to monitor metrics to gauge the effectiveness and success of recruiting efforts and retention strategies. Plan and develop unit strategy goals, objectives, and long-range plans consistent with programming expectations and best practices. Collaborate with District offices, colleges, divisions and community organizations on student services programs and initiatives.

15%- Develop long and short range goals, student learning outcomes and program reviews to include comprehensive assessment methods to strategically align the department with the overall goals of the college; perform financial functions as it relates to Early College programs; develop and manage the department budget. Develop strategy for strategic enrollment management, implementation of supported platforms, such as HubSpot, and establishing learning outcomes that align with our accreditation. Serve as a District representative and liaison with national, regional, state and local agencies regarding student services programs. Provide program development technical support, operations assistance and counsel to executive leadership. Utilize enrollment and retention strategies.

10%- Monitor operations compliance with policies and regulations related to assigned areas. Responds to and resolve difficult or complex inquiries, requests and complaints. Research, analyze, review and provide management reporting on program data, results and industry information. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of related experience that includes two years of management and supervisory experience.
OR
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four years of related experience that includes two years of management and supervisory experience.
OR
High School Diploma and a regionally accredited institution and six years of related experience that includes two years of management and supervisory experience.

Desired Qualifications

Three years or more of progressively responsible leadership and program development experience working in Early College Programs.
Three years or more of experience directly supervising and training full-time and part-time employees.
Two years or more of managing multiple projects, initiatives, and budgets with utilization of data use, program effectiveness, and evaluation/assessment.
Two or more years of experience advising and providing support to a diverse, high-need, or at-risk population of students.
Two years or more of experience working with an online enrollment system such as Student Information System (SIS), Customer Relationship, CRM, or other software.
Two years experience utilizing data to track student progress, enrollment, retention, and success in Early College Programs.

Special Working Conditions

Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.
Will be required to travel or be assigned to other MCCCD locations.
May be required to work evenings and weekends.
May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
This position requires a physical presence on campus with possible partial remote work depending on business needs to best serve the students, department, and college.
