Ledcor is seeking multiple experienced mining safety professionals who excel in partnering with front line supervisors and operations staff to meet and exceed safety standards on project sites. You can expect to work on challenging large-scale heavy civil and mining projects with diverse and collaborative teams to meet and exceed Ledcor's safety standards. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and help coordinate the safety and health aspects for employees and subcontractors onsite
  • Ensure compliance with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), and state regulations
  • Facilitate Health, Safety, and Environmental related training (e.g. new hire orientations)
  • Assist the Project Manager with incident investigations, site and regulatory agency inspections
  • Maintain a good working relationship with project clients and customers
  • Record keeping, auditing, and trending of data, while maintaining visible leadership in the field
  • Perform field-based work (75%) and office-based work (25%)

Qualifications:

  • One or more years of experience in the Mining industry as a Health, Safety, and Environmental professional
  • Degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental sciences or similar area of study is preferred
  • Understanding and practical experience with MSHA / OSHA regulations, documentation, and MSHA 30 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
  • Communicate and present information to the hourly workforce, while also interacting with project management staff, clients, and customers
  • Able to provide a proactive approach to safety, to include identification of operational and organizational issues, as well as develop and implement strategies to solve them
  • MSHA Instructors certification (blue card) is preferred

Work Conditions:

  • Employees will fly-in and fly-out of market - flights will be covered by the company
  • Transportation to the job site and lodging will be provided while in-market
  • Site-based work on rotational shifts
