Overview

Under moderate supervision, carries out lab assignments of a routine to moderately complex nature. Works in testing lab environment to support development and validation of new and innovative solutions to product designs for storage and climbing products. Works directly with product engineering, technology and manufacturing groups on projects and initiatives. Prepares prototype build of components and assemblies, coordinates development of testing equipment and devices as required, and implements testing protocols, including final evaluation reporting for components, products, or competitive products.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

ISO and OSHA Requirements

    Participates in maintaining proper documentation for all ISO and OSHA requirements including but not limited to equipment training log, calibration certification, machine maintenance, and forklift checklist
  • Support role to lab supervisor/manager in development of new standard practice and procedures as required

Prototype and Testing Lab

  • Participates in upkeep of all applicable equipment and tooling within the facility
  • Work in conjunction with product engineering and advanced manufacturing technology groups on projects and initiatives
  • Coordinates development of new test equipment, test set-ups, and tooling if required
  • Participates in Fabrication of Prototypes as required
  • Establish manufacturing capabilities to simulate processes used in operations
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of applicable test standards and procedures
  • Ensures that test data and reports are properly recorded and maintained in an electronic database
  • Participates in creation and updates to test protocols
  • Executes Competitive Product Benchmarking tasks
  • Understands and follows Quality Management System


Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 2-year technical degree
  • Prototype and Testing Capability - 3+ years of producing prototypes and use of testing equipment
  • Cross-functional activities - 3+ years of working with the engineering department to have a good understanding of requirements to do the job (prototypes, testing, product design, manufacturing processes)
  • MS Office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Oracle

  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred
  • Technical Writing
  • Confident - Able to be flexible and open to others ideas but confident in one's abilities to question others
  • Interpersonal Skills - Ability to work well with all levels of the organization in a matrix environment to drive change
  • Strong (written & spoken) Communications Skills at all levels
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Use of equipment, tooling, and prototype machines

Salary Range:

$41,000 - $64,000
