Aerospace Quality Lab Supervisor

PPG Aerospace in Mojave, California, is looking for an on-site Aerospace Quality Lab Supervisor to lead lab operations and support quality and production goals. In this role you will a hands-on opportunity to inspire creativity and collaborate with teams in a dynamic aerospace environment. This position will work primarily on weekends with the ability to slide into other shifts as the business allows.

You will work on-site at our Mojavi, CA facility and report directly to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions on batch adjustments for color and physical properties and train lab technicians accordingly
• Drive process improvements to reduce cycle time and enhance lab efficiency
• Mentor team members, track performance goals, and foster professional growth
• Communicate and coordinate priorities across shifts
• Champion 6S standards, minimize waste, and collaborate with manufacturing and distribution for on-time delivery
• Address quality-related issues, verify customer complaints, and implement corrective actions
• Work with customers regarding pre-shipment approvals, test discrepancies, and new test methods
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures

Qualifications

• Two (2) year of supervisory or related leadership experience required
• Three (3) years of previous experience working in a professional or academic lab environment preferred
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Ability to wear required PPE with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000 Depending on experience
