Ramboll is accepting applications for the Summer 2025 internship program at our office located in San Fransico, CA. Each participant will be assigned a mentor who will guide them through project assignments. The program will provide internship participants with the opportunity to gain experience working in one or more practice areas. Our goal is to afford our interns experience with a variety of projects during the summer program to broaden their understanding an experience within their field of interest.

Job Description

Your new role

As our new Intern, you will consult with clients across various industries on a range of topics, using technical analyses, including carbon emissions, to inform our client's sustainability approach in areas as varied as: carbon strategy; corporate sustainability initiatives; climate risk evaluation; climate action planning; environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. You will be part of the Transformational Sustainability Service Line (TSSL) in Ramboll's Environment & Health Division. Our group consists of energetic, caring individuals who are passionate about helping Ramboll's clients tackle their most challenging problems related to climate change and sustainability. The individual we seek will work in multi-disciplinary teams; analyze and communicate information; and work cooperatively to guide decision-making.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Delivering sustainability and decarbonization analyses, with an emphasis on carbon accounting (scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG inventories) and climate reporting (CDP, TCFD), science-based targets (SBTi), net-zero strategies, and roadmaps
  • Critically reviewing and interpreting climate-related regulations related to sustainability (e.g., SEC Climate Disclosure Rules, California Climate laws, CSRD, CSDDD, other US and international regulations) and voluntary standards, guidance, and reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, ISO 14064 series, PAS 2060 carbon neutrality, Science-based Targets initiative (SBTi) guidance)
  • Providing subject matter expertise and technical leadership on carbon accounting and decarbonization
  • Assisting clients with mandatory and voluntary greenhouse gas and sustainability reporting activities, in alignment with standards and frameworks including GHG Protocol, Task Force on Climate Related-Financial Disclosures (TCFD), CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Global Reporting Index (GRI), Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) and others.
  • Actively participating in a growing network of Ramboll sustainability practitioners that span ourservices across Environment&Health,Energy,and Water
Qualifications

About you

  • Candidates must have completed 6 semesters or obtained Junior status studying Chemical, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related discipline with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Subject matter expertise in GHG emission calculations, methods and standards, strong spreadsheet and database skills, strong written/verbal communication, problem solving and organization skills
  • Initiative, good judgement, and strong prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently to a deadline and ability to manage and prioritize competing stakeholder interests
