Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Project Application Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for managing automatic temperature control system projects from start to finish while also designing and engineering control systems for bid-spec and design-build projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule project implementation and financial plans in detail.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, resource plans, and budgets.
  • Track and manage project plans and schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of electrical, mechanical, network, and engineering subcontractors in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment.
  • Drive processes with knowledge of labor laws, construction contracts, construction administration, and dispute resolution procedures.
  • Manage contract documents and written scopes of work to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify, negotiate, and document scope changes to align with project goals and customer expectations.
  • Conduct site visits, manage installations, and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
  • Lead project meetings, provide status updates, and ensure effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear, organized written and verbal communication while ensuring proper documentation flow.
  • Provide written cost estimates, supporting justifications, and project proposals as needed.
  • Manage procurement of materials and subcontractor activities related to controls projects.
  • Design automatic temperature control systems for bid-spec and design-build projects.
  • Research all equipment to be controlled and determine the correct method for control and integration.
  • Create AutoCAD point-to-point control diagrams.
  • Develop sequences of operation to meet project specifications.
  • Ensure the system remains within the estimated project cost.
  • Assemble a bill of materials and equipment data sheets.
  • Generate a submittal and collaborate with the customer to obtain system approval.
  • Order materials.


Qualifications & Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC controls engineering and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC control systems, including DDC, PLC, and BMS platforms.
  • Proficiency in control system programming and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with major control manufacturers such as Honeywell & Johnson Controls.
  • Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • PMP certification is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.



Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time 40-hour position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Travel: Position location will be located at the Fall River, MA offices.
