TITLE: DIRECTOR QA/QC

LOCATION: ATLANTA, GA

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


  • Lead the commissioning teams responsible for construction completion verification, the functional testing of systems and hardware, and assisting operations with a complete site turnover.
  • Develop the Commissioning Plan and coordinate the resources to define and manage the commissioning scope of work.
  • Ensure that system commissioning procedures are developed, approved and finalized, and that they include the appropriate content and detail to assure safe and thorough commissioning.
  • Carry out commissioning design reviews to minimize the commissioning schedule.
  • Set priorities for system turnover that allows for the safe commissioning of systems while the construction completes and turns over the remaining systems.
  • Ensure that the project scope is divided up into systems that are defined to support ease of commissioning and develop system and sub-system list in order of priority.
  • Ensure systems are validated to meet performance specifications.
  • Ensure that the commissioning execution plan includes the materials, special tools, and specialist engineering and vendor support for safe, productive commissioning.
  • Monitor and coordinate teams across all commissioning activities, including contractor teams.
  • Monitor and coordinate timely and correct resolution of commissioning punch list items.
  • Ensure a two-week look ahead work plan is established and managed, and that daily management activities are in place to monitor progress against the commissioning schedule.
  • Oversee final reports and ensure that they are handed over in a timely fashion.
  • Provide support and training to commissioning personnel, ensuring personnel are competent and possess the required skills and tools.
  • Provide accurate reporting on status including identification of issues or concerns, which may impact project delivery.
  • Immediately rectify or stop any unsafe work or operations.
  • Intervene when personnel are failing to discharge their health and safety responsibilities and encourage good behavior and practice.

Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related field
  • At least 10 years or related experience



Computer Skills:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft office or similar software



Certificates and Licenses:


  • No certifications required



Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Directly supervises 3 or more employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer. Must e able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. May be required to walk around facility.

Pay Range: $126,989 - $190,537 per year
