Job Summary: As the Receiving Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the receiving department, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of incoming shipments. You will coordinate with various departments, suppliers, and carriers to maintain an efficient and organized receiving area, supporting the overall supply chain process. Your role is critical in ensuring the seamless flow of materials into the warehouse and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. How you will Accomplish:
- Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality of materials.
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and packing lists, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to resolve issues related to damaged or missing items.
- Ensure that all received materials are properly labeled, stored, and accounted for in the inventory management system.
- Supervise and lead the receiving team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the receiving department.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members, providing regular feedback and coaching.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, conducting regular audits and cycle counts.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with the inventory control team to reconcile discrepancies and update inventory records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for the receiving team.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, production, and shipping, to support seamless supply chain operations.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on receiving operations and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a receiving or warehouse management role, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
