Job Description

Senior Animators demonstrate their expert artistic abilities developing eye-catching art for casino games throughout the world. At Light & Wonder the Senior Animator role is key to the success of our teams, serving as a highly skilled artist, a mentor, and expert with Adobe Suite products. At Light & Wonder, you will work with a group of exceptionally talented artists, leading projects for extraordinary brands such as: Lord of the Rings, James Bond 007, Wizard of Oz, Wonka, and many more. As part of our Chicago studio you will enjoy working in friendly environment in the center of the city, with all the tools and guidance necessary for your professional growth.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create exemplary art in regards to character design, color theory, layout, text treatment, and animation ability.
  • Continually sharpen artistic and software expertise through company training, independent learning, and learning from other team members.
  • Work closely with Senior Artists and the Lead Artist, producing high-quality art in an iterative process.
  • Demonstrate excellent file structure and organization.
  • Create art assets and document all art assets created with minimal mistakes.
  • Display a high degree of professionalism at all times, accepting critique from the Lead Artist, Game Designer, and other team members.
  • Mentor junior artists within the studio as well as throughout game development.
  • Be prepared to assist with scheduling when necessary.
  • Develop the ability to represent studio and/or Lead Artist when necessary.
    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Preferred Education: Bachelor of Arts in art/animation
    • Preferred Experience: 3 years previous experience as a Staff Artist
    • Excellent drawing and rendering abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Working knowledge of Spine and Unity
    • Knowledge of Illustrator, Studio Max, Maya, or other 3D platforms are a plus
    • Ability to self-manage time with a reasonable degree of accountability and minimal instruction
    • Understand how to design art for various themes and platforms
    • Display an expert proficiency in Photoshop and After Effects
