Mack Robinson College of Business. The Assistant Director of Student Engagement will play an integral role in supporting a growing graduate business student community (over 1400) across the portfolio of 15 graduate programs. The diversity of programs enables Robinson to offer one of the largest and most dynamic portfolios of any business school in the U.S.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Engagement, this position will be part of a student engagement team focused on building and delivering meaningful, culture and community driven co-curricular opportunities that will expand interactions across the larger graduate business community while nurturing program specific initiatives where necessary. Additionally, this role will serve as a hub for student support, resources, and communication, ensuring an inclusive and supportive student experience. Located in our Buckhead Atlanta Campus, the Assistant Director will join a team of high[1]performing, forward-thinking, student engagement professionals who work collaboratively to guide and support students through the student lifecycle.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

Program Development:



  • Vision, develop, deliver and assess innovative student-centered co-and extra-curricular initiatives including but not limited to signature events, case competitions, workshops, symposiums, etc.
  • Foster student engagement, involvement, and community
  • Utilize data to improve and advance efforts by tracking budgets and attendance, running reports, creating and delivering surveys, etc.
  • Develop and implement orientation programs for new graduate students
  • Manage budgets related to graduate student support services, ensuring efficient use of resources


Student Support & Customer Service:



  • Serves as the face of Robinson graduate business programs and an accessible point of contact for new and current students for dedicated programs and across the portfolio
  • Facilitate and execute daily tactical operations such as registration, holds, general questions, financial aid communication, faculty support, GRA hiring, and be the subject matter expert on GSU and Robinson resources
  • Host webinars and sessions as necessary to communicate critical information and updates to students, make occasional class visits to connect and make announcements, and attend signature and program-related events
  • Provide ongoing support for student organizations through programmatic collaboration
  • Attend and support Robinson Ready events as assigned or needed
  • Address and resolve student concerns, complaints, or issues related to their experience


Student Communication:



  • Serve as an information hub for on-campus resources, events, deadlines, etc. Build out student engagement timelines to provide insight into opportunities and experiences in the program
  • Managed day-to-day student communication outreach, including but not limited to promoting student engagement events and opportunities, managing student inquiries and phone calls, and providing content for incoming and current student portals and technology tools such as CampusReel, 12Twenty, etc.


Leadership & Innovation:



  • Take ownership of student engagement leadership initiatives, may include but not limited to: a signature event, case competition manager, student organization advisor, international programs liaison, student ambassador program creation and management, etc.
  • Provide mentorship to team members, leveraging experience and expertise in student engagement to help advance individuals and the team
  • Cross-train on other programs to understand and support similar and differing needs of Robinson graduate students
  • Serve on committees at Robinson or GSU as assigned


Collaboration:



  • Collaborate with various departments, faculty and staff to create a seamless, integrated and holistic student engagement experience from first admission to graduation
  • Collaborate across the student engagement team to simply, streamline, and systemize efforts, creating immersive and engaging experiences across the portfolio
  • Collaborate with academic advisors to ensure consistency in academic support practices


Relationships building and stakeholder management:



  • Partner with faculty directors to understand goals, needs, and outcomes for students.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, campus department,s and vendors.
  • Serve as a liaison to campus partners that support the student lifecycle.


Reporting & Assessment:



  • Pull reports for faculty directors and leadership as needed
  • Generate engagement reports to track the success of efforts
  • Host After Action Reviews to reflect on and improve programming and initiatives

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Master's degree and four years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience


Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • 3 plus years of work experience in financial services and /or higher education (preferably career services or admissions) is preferred
  • Working knowledge of student engagement in a university environment
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Experience planning events and creating communication outreach preferred
  • Ability to use initiative and discretion in dealing with current students during the student lifecycle High personal standard of customer service, professionalism and maturity required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively and diplomatically with graduate level students
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to make group presentations and influence others
  • Familiarity with tools like Utilize tools like 12Twenty, Slate, CampusReel, Zoom meetings, a plus
  • Ability to make independent decisions, problem solve and take appropriate action
  • Experience interacting with individuals from various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
  • Stay informed about changes in policies and procedures affecting graduate students and communicate these changes effectively.
  • Fulfill any supplementary assignments or responsibilities as directed by management.
