Atlantic Union's Enterprise Internship program is a professional development opportunity for local students to gain practical work experience, helping students become better prepared to enter into the financial industry post-graduation. Students have the ability to build professional networks and receive training and mentoring throughout the program.
Atlantic Union's Corporate Communications Intern Program is designed to give college students hands-on experience in the world of corporate communications. It is our intent to give the Intern real assignments. Assignments that challenge and stretch the Intern, provide valuable experience, and enable meaningful contributions to the Corporate Communications Department's extensive portfolio.
The intern will be given assignments that encompass the entire scope of Corporate Communications, including both internal and external communications. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to:
- Shadow Communications Professionals: Work closely with experienced team members to understand the intricacies of corporate communications.
- Project Ownership: Take the lead on specific projects, from conception to execution, and see your ideas come to life.
- Social Media Contribution: Assist in curating and creating content for our social media platforms, helping to enhance our online presence.
- Internal Communications: Contribute to our internal communications platform, ensuring effective and engaging communication within the organization.
- Skill Development: Gain valuable skills and insights into corporate communications, including writing, editing and strategic planning.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Corporate Communications Manager and has hybrid office residency.
Position Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Position Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required, and Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree
- Must be available to work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday
- Must submit a resume and cover letter highlighting accomplishments, professional and academic goals, and expectations of this internship position
- Submission of transcripts and two professional or academic references
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
- Must be able to function well with indirect supervision.
