The City is searching for an energetic, self-driven person to join Water Services Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) OT support team as a SCADA Electrical/Instrumentation Controls Specialist. This position will have direct contact with City Water Services staff across all divisions, as well as using their knowledge to help develop and maintain SCADA Electrical and Instrumentation equipment. The purpose of this position is to provide Electrical and Instrumentation support across the entire SCADA system. Duties to include but not limited to: electrical support up to 600 Volts, and may include programming of PLCs and GE iFIX. The position will use communication skills to provide excellent customer service support to Water Services personnel and ultimately to the citizens of the City of Peoria.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:



  • Electrical knowledge and the ability to work with voltages up to 600 V
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and electronic schematics
  • Strong computer skills for entering work order data and communications

Education:



  • Two year college program or equivalent combinations resulting in accumulation of similar knowledge or skills.


Experience:



  • 2-4 years' experience. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions. The job requires a sound knowledge of common and uncommon techniques, concepts, methods, practices, use of forms, routines, etc., of complex nature.


Physical Demands:



  • Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort. Forces exerted are equivalent to lifting between 25 and 50 pounds. The need for physical stamina and endurance is great.


Electrical:



  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety and troubleshooting abilities for voltages up to 480VAC.


Programming:



  • Must have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and develop control system programming including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software.


Licenses and Certifications:



  • Valid Arizona Class "D" Driver's License
  • Must obtain at leasttwo (2)Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade I Certifications in either Water, Wastewater Treatment, Collections or Distributionwithin one year of hire


Preferred Qualification:



  • Prefer individual with Electrical Background
