Summary:
Join our dynamic team as a Healthcare Billing Analyst, where you'll ensure full reimbursement for clinical services, including professional, long-term/home care, and hospital care. You'll manage receivables effectively, resolve edits, and ensure accurate claims are sent to primary and secondary insurances. Your role will involve researching and resolving denials and payer requests promptly and accurately to secure payment. Be part of a team that continually seeks to improve complex business processes. Key Responsibilities: * Review and accurately process claim edits in a system work queue. * Handle claim adjustments and coverage changes as needed. * Review and process claim denials according to established processes. * Research and resolve denial issues via payer websites, coverage policies, and phone calls. * Submit corrected claims and appeals. * Process account adjustments and refunds as needed. * Document actions appropriately and follow up with payers to ensure promised actions are taken. * Manage a large workload using tracking tools to ensure timely follow-up before payer deadlines. * Participate in team meetings to review new procedures, denial types, and system updates. * Report problems and patterns to the supervisor to keep policies and procedures up to date. * Acquire and maintain knowledge of system terminology, claim/denial/coverage concepts, and relevant HIPAA privacy rules. * Expertly use insurance websites and tools in Epic to resolve denial issues. * Respond to patient complaints by researching coverage and claim processing to ensure accurate patient responsibility. * Coordinate resolution with Customer Service staff. Top Skills: * Data Entry * Computer Skills * Customer Service * Healthcare Experience * Medicaid Eligibility * Healthcare Collections (Preferred) Desired Attributes: * At least one year of experience in a medical office environment (preferred). * Basic knowledge of medical billing, coding, collection processes, insurance policies, and governmental regulations (preferred). * Knowledge of UBO4 billing form and 1500F05 specific payer requirements (preferred). * Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. * Successful completion of annual age and job-specific competencies and skill verification tools. * Proficiency in various computer applications, spreadsheet applications, and common office equipment. Physical Requirements: * Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. * Involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
