JOB ANNOUNCEMENT PROJECT MANAGER CHICAGO PUBLIC LIBRARY First Deputy Commissioner's Office Number of Positions: 1 (additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $86,520 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CST on 04/2/2025 DUTIES: Manage and directs large scale program or projects that support the mission of CPL. Coordinates and administers citywide initiatives, departmental programs and special projects of complex and technical nature. Support CPL's year-long strategic planning process including internal and external rollout. Supports program teams in project management for time bound initiatives that rotate based on need and team capacity. Support program teams with communication needs both internally and externally. Establishing timelines and implementing process to track and monitor project progress and accomplishment of key objectives. Perform research on critical focus areas that relate to library programs and services. Other responsibilities as assigned. LOCATION: 400 S. State Street - First Deputy Commissioner's Office DAYS OFF: Two days off per week SHIFT: Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm HOURS: 35 hours per week to be scheduled during normal unit hours THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a field of study directly related to the responsibilities of the position, plus five years of project management work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent technology skills, ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, ability to work within a large, complex organization, commitment to the mission of the Chicago Public Library. SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.
