DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, your duties will include the operation of motor vehicles, light machinery, and both hand and power tools to perform routine maintenance and various assigned projects related to the upkeep of Forest District 16's roads, trails, boundary lines, bridges, buildings, picnic areas, gate barriers, and informational signage. It is essential that all equipment and tools are utilized safely and efficiently, adhering to established safety standards. Additionally, your responsibilities will also involve manual labor, which includes painting boundary lines, cleaning culverts, headwalls, and ditches, cutting brush, and picking stones along roads, as well as on the Pine Creek Trail, performing structural repairs and new construction, and engaging in wildfire suppression efforts. - This is a seasonal, full-time position WITHOUT benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which the employee is placed on leave without pay.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday - Wednesday; 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, with 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require travel and overtime as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position will require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
