A Day In The Life

  • Receive and review shipping orders or requests to determine items to be shipped, the destination, delivery deadlines, and any special requirements.
  • Prepare and pack items for shipment, ensuring they are appropriately labeled, securely packaged, and protected against damage.
  • Verify and maintain shipping records, including tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and other documentation as required.
  • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring adherence to deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Communicate with internal departments, such as procurement and inventory management, to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to verify their condition and ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
  • Collaborate with customer service to address shipping-related inquiries, complaints, or issues, providing timely and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Operate shipping software and equipment, such as computer systems, barcode scanners, and weighing scales, to facilitate the shipping process.
  • Stay updated with shipping regulations, carrier policies, and industry trends to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, including proper storage and organization of shipping supplies and materials.
