Job Summary |
The Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning is seeking to hire a
3D Artist/XR Designer
to assist with the day-to-day and specialized operations of a diverse and expansive unit. This position is essential to the smooth technological functions of the department and to advancing the Biggio Center's mission.
This is a limited-term position.

Essential Functions |
- Provides technical design and implementation as well as creative input and design.
- Participates in projects and cross-functional activities related to technical and creative needs of the media and/or projects.
- Provides service support for 3D media technologies, including (but not limited to) virtual and augmented reality platforms, 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging, animation, and integration with immersive experience development tools.
- Provides quality control of production processes, including (but not limited to) monitoring and improving the technical quality of 3D models, ensuring optimal performance for immersive environments, and improving the speed and reliability of asset delivery.
- Provide complete quality assurance for XR projects produced by the unit train and guide junior-level designers

Minimum Qualifications |
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Film or Television Production, Computer Graphics or related field.
Experience:
0-4 years of Experience providing creative, technical, or support services for various medias
Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement at a rate of one (1) year of relevant education per year of required experience. |
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities |
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Highly skilled in the management, organization and prioritizing of tasks. Ability to learn new software and computer programs. Professionalism in critical situations. |
Minimum Technology Skills |
General office equipment (printers, scanners, etc), Microsoft or Apple computers, Microsoft Office Suite (concentration on Word, Excel and Outlook), phone systems |
